While New Orleans is known for the gentle, slow and easy-going way of life, it is not always so easy to live here. I was recently talking to someone who pointed out that we all have stuff that makes life not so easy. We brought some of that “stuff” on ourselves, some we were just born into and some  of our stuff was just dumped on us.

Life is not always easy. We are busy enough working through our own stuff that we should not worry about being so busy getting into another person’s stuff. Don’t get me wrong, we should practice empathy and compassion and show that WE CARE, but we should not be so judgmental.

That’s where mindfulness comes in. It’s learning to be present with ourselves and others in a non judgmental way. As easy as that may sound, it takes practice.

I am inviting you to join me on Monday nights at UpLIFT NOLA to sit and practice mindfulness. I know you can do it by yourself, but there is something about doing it, in community, with others.

Come, sit and relax.  WE HAVE A SPOT FOR YOU!
