During this COVID-19 Shelter in Place order, Positive Impact wants to continue with its mission of Building safe and caring communities through positive relationships. While we know that we can only have limited face-to-face interaction with one another, that shouldn’t stop us from building positive relationships.
We want to honor those who are serving during this crisis while connecting our youth with service. To that end, we are kicking off our virtual We Care campaign with a youth-led service project.
We are inviting high school age students in the Algiers community to participate in our initial Zoom meeting, on Tuesday, May 5, to learn more about this service learning project.
Service hours will be logged for credit with the Presidential Service Award, which Positive Impact is a “Certifying Organization.” Most importantly, we will began to connect with other youth in our community who want to find ways to show that youth care about their neighbors.
For more information, please contact Alan Delery. Youth will receive a Zoom video conference invitation after they register by emailing Alan at alan@positiveimpactnola.org by Monday, May 4.
FYI – Positive Impact Inc. is based at UpLift NOLA on Opelousas Ave. and wants to establish our youth programs throughout the Algiers community.
Thanks.
